The name “Nerdsy” is an urban term that refers to a person who is an “artsy nerd.” It fits me to a tee! I’m a nerdy creative who is skilled at art, web design, UX and SEO.
In 2015 I got this idea: what if I could use my skills to help the little guy succeed? How could I help fellow small business owners and entrepreneurs? What would it take?
While I was planning, researching, and exploring, the digital landscape kept changing. So, I continued to learn new things while we worked and hatched my plan. I realized that businesses are always playing catch-up these days because I do it too.
No single strategy for having a successful website works today. You need a no stone left unturned, holistic strategy to succeed. It’s not enough to design a great looking, mobile-friendly website that helps you go after your business goals. To succeed these days, you need to design for customers and search engines as well. So I came up with a starting formula for success:
Business Objectives + Brand Strategy + Content Strategy + User Experience (UX) + Great Web Design + SEO = Success.
Then I condensed it to reflect the people I design for and the behemoth force we all serve:
Success=Brand Messaging + Customer Experience + Search Engine Optimization
We leverage expert design, business strategy, and website SEO to create state-of-the-art websites that help small businesses level up and realize their dreams!
Since 2015, I have been helping survivors of the genocide in Darfur by volunteering with the Darfur Women Network, Inc. I built their website and currently maintain it. Working with DWN has been an incredibly rewarding experience. The biggest eye-opener is seeing how small groups of people can truly have a considerable impact, improving the lives of others.

To Whom It May Concern,
Nancy Aurand-Humpf is a gifted artist and web designer. She holds a high understanding for women and is sensitive and aware of cultural differences. She always makes sure Darfur Women Network’s (DWN) website is perfect and reflects our actions to our audience. Her incredible skill has always impressed me.
Her passion towards the survivors of genocide in Darfur, Sudan and willingness to help has always been endless. She is committed to her work and overcomes any barriers in the way.
In June 2015, she used her professional and gifted arts to redesign our website. She helped us to sign up with a security and backup company. She has used her expertise to take our website to a higher quality and to protect us from potential targets. DWN’s website had an issue with hackers targeting organizations that serve the survivors of Darfur genocide worldwide, but it was resolved when Nancy intervened.
In addition, she is constantly willing to educate us about technology, and she advises us about the best hosting and supporting sites. She truly cares about her work and always wants the best for DWN. From the kindness of her heart, she believed DWN should take high quality pictures. Thus, she donated a beautiful camera for DWN to take pictures with. DWN will always trust her expertise and appreciate her commitment.
Nancy’s rich experience, knowledge, and her passion toward our mission has given her more confidence that shaped her strong personality and kind heart. She built close relationships with immigrants and despite cultural and lingual differences. We are grateful for Nancy and DWN would have never gotten this far without her.
I wholeheartedly recommend Nancy. I am confident that she will be an invaluable addition. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions regarding her character or past work.
Sincerely,
Mastora Bakhiet,
Executive Director, Darfur Women Network, Inc.
